Online consumer magazines experience rise in traffic
Consumer magazine websites have experienced a rise in traffic for the second quarter in a row, according to the most recent figures released by the Magazine Publishers of America.
In Q1, traffic to consumer magazine websites rose 10% YoY, as reported by the MPA. The second quarter has seen a rise of 8.5% to an average of 69.7 million unique monthly visitors.
"This latest data shows that the audience for magazine brands continues to grow," said Nina Link, President and CEO, Magazine Publishers of America. "Visitors to our sites are attracted to our filtered content and unique voice, and they want to be part of the vibrant community that flourishes around great magazine brands."
Advertising within online consumer magazines allows greater creativity and interactivity, something which online magazine readers respond to. A report by The Harrison Group earlier this year showed that magazine readers felt ads in the online publications were more relevant to them and enjoyed the ability to be able to connect direct with the advertisers.
The MPA’s findings are good news for the consumer magazine industry following recent drops in growth.
