Avot Media: Youths embrace mobile video
Mobile video is quickly taking off - as long as you are a young person. That is the result of a recent survey from Avot Media. According to the survey about 55% of young (under age 29) mobile users are willing to send a text message to receive mobile video of interest to them.
Nearly 33% said they were willing to watch reality show performances or even how-to video clips on mobiles and 36% were interested in viewing movie clips via mobile.
“There’s been plenty of buzz in the industry about mobile video and its possibilities and how brands can utilize them to connect with their target audience,” said DeWayne Nelon, Avot Media CEO. “While the industry has been slower to adapt to these possibilities, these results clearly show that there is a great deal of interest for mobile video services and the time for companies to start integrating them to their marketing campaigns is now.”
How difficult is it for current mobile users to see the videos they want? Seemingly fairly easy.
The survey found that 95% of respondents thought sending an SMS message to receive video clips was easy and nearly 90% of respondents felt that start-up time for videos on mobile devices was either fast or medium fast. Consumers are also reporting that video images on mobiles are clear.
