Visa giving $100 Facebook ad credit to small businesses
Visa is awarding a total of $2 million in Facebook advertising credit to small businesses. It comes as part of the launch of the first-ever application dedicated to connecting small businesses on the social networking site.
There are over 80,000 small businesses on Facebook and Visa plans to bring them together to provide a global network of peers and advisors including facilities such as “Ask the Experts” in partnership with The Wall Street Journal.
To encourage Facebook’s community of small businesses to participate, Visa is giving the first 20,000 to do so $100 in Facebook advertising credits to create targeted advertising and reach potential customers on the social networking site.
Participating small businesses will also be given exclusive access to newsfeeds, blogs and videos with valuable business insight.
"Visa is breaking new ground by harnessing social networking to connect business owners,” said Antonio Lucio, chief marketing officer, Visa, in a recent announcement. “We are putting the power of the network in the users' hands, and it will be fascinating to see how the community evolves."

I read about this all day yesterday and commend Visa for getting this off the ground. I signed Salesconx (the website I work for) up and it's true...You DO get $100 towards advertising. Nothing like FREE targeted advertising on Facebook. I cannot wait to see how the campaign goes! -Gina Salesconx
