Vidsense launches PPC video network

Rather than simply delivering video to consumers, Vidsense is relaunching to provide video watching consumers to advertisers. The new video advertising network is pay-per-click based. Vidsense won't lose the video distribution, rather they are betting that providing television and movie clips will continue to drive traffic - and in-market consumers - to their new advertising units.

vidsense.jpgVidsense CEO Jaffer Ali said, "Our research confirms the ineffectiveness of the current pre-roll video standard. Our time-tested content engages viewers on their own terms, right inside the advertiser's online showroom. We use only licensed advertiser-friendly video to create an immediate, potent brand association, an emotional connection that simply cannot be achieved anywhere else, on or offline."

Here is how the network works: consumers click on links or thumbnails to watch a TV or mobile clip. In a new window, which opens at the click, viewers are taken to an advertiser's website. An embedded Vidsense video player there launches the ad with the clip the user wanted to view.

By offering ads and video in one place - the advertiser's branded environment - marketers can have a greater impact on the consumer and consumers are given the content they want along with a highly targeted ad.
