Trulia launches self-serve platform for real estate
Real estate agents, home improvement companies and home buyers now have an ad platform geared specifically to them: Trulia Pro. Trulia, the real estate search engine has launched a self-serve platform which offers these marketers the ability to create and launch campaigns in a fixed-price environment.
The platform also offers online property listings and hybrid search and display ads.
"We are helping agents to optimize local content with local ads in an efficient and cost-effective way,” said Sami Inkinen, co-founder of Trulia. “Trulia Pro is designed as a great starter-kit for agents looking to reach local home buyers and sellers, and serves as a cost-effective alternative for agents who are spending more advertising dollars than they need to on other sites or in print media.”
Earlier this year, Trulia launched the Trulia Ad Network, a place for advertisers in the housing marketplace to buy on content networks and online versions of local newspapers.
In addition to ads which link back to a hosted property page, the platform powers "Spotlight Ads". These ads focus on a real estate broker or seller, links to their website or can showcase a property. The listings are triggered by keyword or zip codes and show up when a home buyer queries a search within the Trulia network. Currently, the spotlight ads are only on the right sidebar but in the future, these ads could be optimized to other locations on the web pages.

Trulia can be a great tool but I prefer the Google Maps/MLS mashup by PropertyMaps. It lists properties on the MLS but also has features of RealtyTrac for foreclosure properties. It's been a great help.
