Sometrics launches social ad platform
Advertising on social networks may become much simpler with a new offering from Sometrics. Their new ad-serving platform is specifically targeted to social marketers and social consumers.
Marketers can target ads according to demographic, geography, user interests and social actions, like how and when users send links to friends in the network.
Ian Swanson, CEO of Sometrics said, "In the social media space, it's about how you move beyond the click to be able to tell who was the person engaging with an ad."
Advertisers and developers can test ad campaigns before officially launching the campaigns to see how different demographics will react to the ad. If marketers can determine which demos will be most interested or which social users are most likely to pass along the information, the campaign has a better chance of success.
The platform will be CPM-based; Sometrics says they will deliver CPMs between $1 and $2 for app-based ads. They will serve both premium and remnant display ads through the platform.
Sometrics is a relative newcomer to the online and social space and focuses on the social space, giving them a unique vantage point. By focusing on one area of the online marketplace, they could potentially give marketers a bigger bang for their buck.
