Mixercast.com serves 1 billion page views monthly
"If you build it, they will come," was the popular line from the 80's hit movie "Field of Dreams". For online video ad service Mixercast.com, that saying could be, "If you rebuild it, they will come - in droves." The platform, according to company information, is now serving 1 billion page views each month.
Velocity Interactive Group owns Mixercast.com. CEO Jonathan Miller made the billion-view announcement during OMMA's video conference last week.
The platform, which allows users to see actual video ads and mix-and-match those ads to create their own version, is becoming increasingly popular with consumers. Consumers can use bits of marketer's actual video ads along with other items - like a display ad, a graph or some company information - to create their own version of the ad.
With MCast (the social platform division), publishers and marketers can create and distribute content through social settings; users can also manage the content and experiences that consumers have when visiting their sites. By increasing the interaction in this way, marketers have a better chance of engaging the user; a more engaged user is a more loyal user.
Though still a relatively new online ad form, video is quickly catching on with consumers. According to a recent comScore report on average consumers are viewing 200 videos each month. This is a huge opportunity for marketers with a little vision and creativity.
