Marchex launches pay-per-click network

A new pay-per-click option could make it easier for advertisers to buy local, national and spot ads in a pay-per-click environment. Marchex Adhere places ads within sites in Marchex's OpenList Network; marketers can buy all three ad types with one buy.

“National advertisers are responsible for more than two-thirds of the $100 billion in local ad spending," said Pete Christothoulou, Marchex Chief Strategy Officer. "With the increasing fragmentation in the local market, it is nearly impossible for national advertisers to take full advantage of the tremendous local opportunity and find enough quality traffic at scale to fulfill their campaign needs.”

Through the platform, marketers can choose to place their ads on specific sites or within specific categories on a website. There are more than 200 premium publisher sites in the OpenList network. Marketers can also place keyword targeted ads in search and vertical networks.

Being able to place a number of different ads within different websites and targeted to specific areas will save marketers not only time but money. Online advertising networks are becoming increasingly popular with marketers who want options but don't have time to research all the sites on the web. Networks have information on traffic patterns, type of visitors and content information readily available to marketers. So, with a single purchase you can have a campaign ready to go.
