Does your landing page take too long to load?

If you answered either "Yes" or "I don't know" to that question, take a look at AlertSite's new offering. The platform allows marketers and online publishers to gauge how long it takes a landing page to load.

alertsite.gifWhy is this important?

Because if pages take too long to load, consumers may not wait. Research has shown that consumers want to get to a page and immediately see the products they have searched for. If a page takes a long time to load, consumers may abandon your site for a similar site.

Another reason to check the loading time for your landing pages is advertising costs. Recently, Google changed some AdWords advertising requirements. Now if a landing page takes a long time to load, the advertiser will be charged more.

To check how long it takes your landing page to load, simply type in the URL of your landing page. The page will be scanned and you'll have the answer to that all important question - is load time killing user interest - in a matter of seconds.

In addition to giving landing page response time, the scan will tell site owners how long it takes a page to redirect and how long it takes for the first byte of a page to load once a user is connected to the server.
