Will Yahoo Glue Pages stick?

Yahoo has launched a beta test of its latest search concept called Glue Pages, a more visually attractive presentation of search results.

by Helen Leggatt

Ask.com renovated the presentation and variety of their search results earlier this year and Yahoo has just done the same. Instead of the usual list of links, the newly launched Glue Pages will provide the user with a mix of visual and textual references from a multitude of sources, all on one page.

Unlike Ask3D.com, Glue Pages doesn’t let the old-style list of links dominate the results page, instead placing them discreetly on the left hand side of the screen.

Initially, Glue Pages will cover the travel, sports, health, technology, finance and entertainment verticals and is only available in beta test on Yahoo India where the concept was developed.

"With it (Glue Pages), we have new opportunities for monetization as we look for advertisements, sponsored modules and page sponsorship on it," said Tapan Bhat, senior vice-president of Yahoo India.
