Radius: UGC meets display advertising

User-generated content is often found on feedback pages and product review pages, there for those who care to find it, but a new service could see user reviews and comments getting their share of the limelight.

Imagine being able to incorporate user-generated content, such as comments and reviews, into display ads or have them automatically uploaded to comparison shopping sites. The power of word of mouth marketing could be encapsulated into an advertising campaign and be broadcast instead of languishing on a product page.

bazaarvoice%20logo.gifBazaarvoice has today given that option to marketers with the launch of Radius. More value can be squeezed out of user-generated content by using Bazaarvoice’s newly formed network of e-commerce service providers to embed user-generated content into display ads and onto comparison sites.

The entire process is automated and filters are in place to stop inappropriate user-generated content being displayed, something which will put marketer’s minds at ease as not all consumer feedback is positive, legible or constructive.

"User-generated feedback, reviews, and content have become a critical component of the online customer experience,” said John Squire, Chief Strategy Officer at Coremetrics. “We are excited by the possibilities Radius will offer to online businesses to optimize their multi-channel marketing strategies by combining the power of Coremetrics Connect with the growing portfolio of Bazaarvoice social commerce solutions."

The Radius network includes the likes of CoreMetrics, WebTrends, Resource Interactive and Endeca.
