Clear Channel relaunch offers more to consumers, advertisers
If Clear Channel has anything to say about it, online radio isn't going to go softly into the night. With a relaunch of it's station websites, the radio giant offers more to consumers and to advertisers.
For consumers, the new websites include on-air content, on-demand content and mobile content; consumers can also create custom playlists.
For advertisers, a platform called TotalRadius.com offers a wealth of new opportunities, including blinks, sponsorships and pre-roll for online video.
John Hogan President and CEO, Clear Channel Radio said, “At the push of a button, advertisers can hear successful audio branding, get examples of integrated marketing best practices, and get in contact with stations in their markets.”
The radio conglomerate has also partnered with StudioNow to help local advertisers find video advertising freelancers to create online video campaigns. For local marketers who can't afford the big price-tag that comes with using a large marketing firm, this could be a way to get their feet wet in video advertising.
Though traditional radio revenues are falling, this could be the solution for advertisers who want to reach a local market. In addition to the video ad possibilities, the display and blink ads may appeal to local consumers. And, with ClearChannel offering so many listening options to consumers, they are likely to continue logging on day after day.
