Virgin Mobile, Limbo enter content partnership

Mobile community Limbo has entered into a 1-year partnership deal with Virgin Mobile to provide it's 5 million users with unique content; a move that should entice more advertisers to move into the wireless space.

The key for mobile advertising and for mobile content is to provide something that users cannot find in another space. According to research, mobile users want prompt information and they want content that cannot be found in another online area. By entering into a partnership to provide unique content Virgin Mobile could help turn the tide on mobile marketing.

"Limbo's interactive content is producing tangible business results for Virgin Mobile USA, increasing SMS usage among participating customers. Participants indicate an increase in brand affinity and the viral spread is powerful, with over 70% of participants telling at least one friend about the promotion," said Bob Stohrer, CMO for Virgin Mobile USA.

Limbo will blast monthly and quarterly promotions to Virgin Mobile users through SMS messages; interactive content will be delivered using the VirginXL platform. The monthly campaigns are underway currently. Virgin Mobile users can play Limbo Grap or Limbo Unique through SMS or WAP platforms; the games offer a chance to win $1000, a car or electronics merchandise.
