Green products and companies attract sales online
Including environmentally-conscious information on your website could lead to an increase in sales, as Doubleclick discovers that online shoppers love to buy “green”.
It’s not just price and convenience that online shoppers are looking for. A recent DoubleClick Performics study found that green issues were also a key driver of online sales.
Not only that, the study found around half of online shoppers would pay at least 5% more for a green product, whether it was saving them energy or saving the world’s trees.
Over 80% said they would be extremely or very likely to choose an environmentally-friendly option.
Word-of-mouth is a key driver for green products and companies alike. According to Stuart Larkins, senior vice president of search at DoubleClick Performics, “a majority of online consumers would recommend an environmentally-conscious company to friends and family. All these results speak to the necessity for proactive reputation management; consumers are as interested in the company as the products they are researching.”
