Did you promote your green image on Earth Day?
The number of retailers that promoted Earth Day this year was three times that of last year.
Did you promote Earth Day and your contributions toward it in your email marketing messages this year?
According to a recent RetailEmail blog entry, a study found the number of retailers that promoted Earth Day in their emails rose this year to 16% from 4% in 2007.
Retailers used a variety of tactics to promote Earth Day, including promoting earth-friendly products (WalMart), donating a portion of each sale to green charities (Guess) and even giving away saplings (Macy’s).
Datran Media and Zinio partnered with the Ad Council to launch Earth Day Now, a “sustainable digital media campaign focused on raising environmental awareness in conjunction with Earth Day.” The paperless campaign will provide an ongoing stream of conservation and ecological tips via email for millions of Americans.”
As consumers become more and more conscious of environmental issues, and look for companies with a green image, the number of email marketing messages that include promotions and offers of that ilk is bound to increase.
