New application makes social networking simple for businesses
If you've thought about beginning to socially network on the web but aren't quite sure how to harness the power, a new application from Ringside Networks may be of help. The application makes it simple for any website or business to incorporate Facebook applications into the sites.
Facebook is the second-most visited social network, following MySpace, according to the latest data from Nielsen//Netratings. Unlike MySpace, which caters to teens and young adults, Facebook is more often used by young professionals and businesses. The difference is likely because Facebook began as a space for college students and only opened to the public in 2007.
“Companies have spent far too much time and effort building their brands, websites, content and applications to hand over social networking to some third party”, said Bob Bickel, founder of Ringside Networks. “Ringside Networks gives them a way to get control over this important new way of interacting with their users and customers, while still being able to tie into the big social networks.”
The social application server integrates social applications into existing websites to help businesses better engage their target consumer base. Standard social apps are available but businesses can create their own applications, too, to deploy on the websites. By having on-site social abilities, marketers can determine how the brand is faring, how a campaign is operating and make quick changes to enhance ROI.
