Who is logging on to career websites?
Advertising to in-market consumers is a great way to increase the ROI of any campaign. But where do you find in-market consumers? One place is career websites, because consumers looking for jobs are also seeking items to improve their lives.
The job, complete with higher pay, is the first step but these consumers are also likely looking for things to make their lives easier: better computers or cell phones, technological devices and even games to help them relax. With that in mind, let us take a deeper look at which consumers are logging on to career websites.
In the US the top career websites for the week ending January 8, 2008 were CareerBuilder (5.6 million unique users), Monster (5.3 million uniques) and Yahoo! HotJobs (3.3 million uniques). More than 87 million unique users logged on to job sites during the counting period with women logging on most (46 million). Just over 41 million men logged on to career sites.
In the 18-24 age group more than 6 million users logged on. For 25-34 year old there were 11.6 million users and for the 35-49 age group more than 28.5 million users checked out better jobs. Just over 38 million users in the 45+ age group logged on.
For the moderate income ranges ($25,000-$74,999) there were nearly 40 million users. More than 31 million users are in the $75,000-$150,000 income range.
