Kadoink takes widgets mobile

As more consumers use their mobiles to reach their online social networks, to research local eateries or grab a quick coupon before checking out more advertisers are also taking note and logging to the mobile web with their campaigns. So far, however, those campaigns have been limited to local mobile search or mobile social networking.

A new platform from Kadoink offers marketers another advertising opportunity from a widget perspective.

Kadoink has created several different mobile widgets so that users can better connect with friends, family and even their favorite musicians. Here is how it works: the user selects the type of widget wanted (a super call, a phonecaster, a music call, a birthday, countdown or other call) and then start talking - or texting. Widgets can be shared with all of a user's friends and family but the widget can only be saved by the creator. Widgets can also be changed as often as necessary.

Kadoink is one of few mobile widgets to offer easy group communication. In January Sutter Hill Ventures signed on to provide $7 million in venture capital for the firm.

In addition to consumers, advertisers can take advantage of the widgets to stay in contact with valued consumers. Once a consumer has signed on to a widget, advertisers can keep them updated with new products or promotions through their cells.
