mDog launches Flash-mobile platform
Mobile content and marketing is moving to the next level. No longer content with simple display, MMS/SMS messaging or mobile search, mDog is launching a Flash platform for ad-sponsored content.
mDog's Flash platform will work with several online components of magazines like The Wall Street Journal, ComputerWorld.com, PCMag.com and Billboard Magazine. The Flash editions of these magazines will be offered through the platform, making them more interactive than simple text on the mobile screen.
Users begin by clicking on one of four icons - News, Search, My Portfolio (for stock/investing information) or Help. If a users chooses News, they are offered several different options like Technology, Opinion, Personal Journal. From those options the user chooses a headline; as that story is launched in the mobile browser, a Flash ad is launched that the user views before the article or journal entry is viewed. Users can easily flip between the different segments of the platform by clicking left or right arrow buttons or the "Home" icon.
For the search aspect, users can type in a specific search term or search for a specific stock. Again a list of high-ranking queries are returned and once an option is clicked, an ad is launched and then the actual article launches.
