Alacra launches a content ad-network

A new ad network is in town, or on the Internet, promising blogs and content sites another way to monetize their content. Alacra, a business solutions organization, launched their Premium Content Advertising Network (PCAN) this week.

by Kristina Knight

“Online publishers -- from large, well established brands to bloggers -- have all spent time building their readerships by providing compelling content,” said Steven Goldstein, chairman and CEO of Alacra. “We developed PCAN so publishers can offer their readers ads directly based on their specific interests – contextually relevant financial information.”

The ad network is targeted to financial content sites and the ads offered are contextually targeted according to website content. For example, if a consumer searches an investment website for information on Apple, their query will result in information about Apple stocks and other financial information in addition to Apple products like iPods.

The ads within the network are all pay-per-action, meaning that the content sites are paid for every transaction resulting from the ad. Before the ads are placed on various websites, those sites are scanned to ensure the content is relevant to the ad form. Advertisers can also choose what websites should be included in the campaign and can exclude certain websites as well.
