Intercasting, Piczo partner for mobile social platform
Teens will soon have a new place to share their own user generated content. Recently Intercasting Corporation and Piczo announced they would partner on a new mobile social space for the 13 to 18 year old set.
Chris Seth, Managing Director for Europe of Piczo Inc said, "Piczo is creating a service that taps into the habits of the Piczo generation who want to be in control of their content and communication in a safer environment, and at the same time extending self-expression onto the devices that matter most to them in their lives."
Here is how the platform will work: Piczo users who log on to the new ANTHEMT platform will be able to share their own user generated content via their mobile devices with friends and family. Users can upload pictures and other creations directly from their mobiles to the platform; it also offers SMS and MMS messaging. Users can send and receive messages and comment on Piczo pages from mobile phones.
Mobile content creation is a fast growing medium. About half of teens aged 13 to 17 are already engaged in mobile social networking. Ad revenue from the mobile social space are expected to reach nearly $3 billion by 2010.
