Test program allows users to buy from within ads
A new platform from Chitika, the leading blogger-driven merchandising/shopping network, could change the way online retailers approach advertising. Their platform would allow users a more interactive ad which could greatly increase the conversion rate of online ads.
Their new ad product is called the eMiniMall. From within a single ad, users can obtain more information about the product and can even purchase the product from within it. The product is targeted to bloggers who are increasingly trying to find ways to monetize their blogs. It can also be used in Facebook profiles.
With new users signing on to social networking sites and returning to their favorite blogs day after day, and sometimes several times each day, advertising within blogs with high traffic numbers is a good idea for online retailers. The more interactive the ad the more apt users are to become engaged. By giving consumers the ability to learn more about a product or to purchase from the ad itself, ad platforms make it much easier for a casual observer to become a converted user.
The eMiniMall platform is being tested throughout October with Chitika offering brands participating in the test 500 free clicks. This is a good opportunity for advertisers to test out the platform to see if it is a good fit with their products.
