AdBrite to sell ads on Facebook apps
Microsoft may have the exclusive when it comes to display advertising on Facebook, but application developers on the social network can choose to accept ads or sponsorships from whoever they like.
Taking advantage of the application developers’ freedom of choice is AdBrite. The online advertising firm found they had a stream of Facebook application developers signing up to their service. Other attractions include a reach of 74 million unique users and that they can expose advertisers to over 100 Facebook applications such as iLike and Fight Club.
"People are trying to figure out what their Facebook apps are worth," said AdBrite co-founder Philip Kaplan in an interview with CNET News.com. "We're in a good position working with the existing advertisers we have and getting them on Facebook apps."
Application developer pages account for around 10 million page views per day in Facebook’s new App channel and almost 44 million Facebook page views to the total network during last month.
