Facebook takes number one spot on hot list
AdweekMedia has released its third annual Digital Hot List. The top ten lists those web properties that have grabbed the attention of marketers, consumers, press and pop culture during 2007.
Last year, three year old Facebook took the number ten spot in the Digital Hot List. This year, the onetime student-only social networking website is in first place, despite having a much lower unique visitor count (16.5 million) when compared to MySpace (60 million).
Last year’s winner, YouTube, slipped to third place behind MySpace, the 2006 runner-up.
The Digital Hot List is not only based on hard facts and figures. Other considerations were the “buzz” among marketing and media insiders and continued substantial growth in key audience metrics.
The full Digital Hot List is as follows:
1. Facebook.com
2. MySpace.com
3. YouTube.com
4. TMZ.com
5. Disney.com
6. Veoh.com
7. Funnyordie.com
8. Discovery.com
9. Digg.com
10. Imeem.com
