comScore launches qSearch for France, UK

Online marketers may soon be getting more from one analytics firm. Following the launch of comScore's qSearch in the US, the metrics firm has launched similar platforms in both the UK and in France.

The new platform allows for in depth analysis of searches performed from and within several online hubs such as MySpace, Amazon.com and even travel sites like Expedia. Marketers can compare search which are begun from a small hub but then platformed onto a larger search engine and also tracks multiple searches performed within different tabs from an online window.

"Search activity is no longer merely a preserve of the major search engines like Google and Yahoo!," said Bob Ivins, EVP of International Markets at comScore. "[Search is] occurring on a range of site categories, including social networking, video, careers sites, travel, and so on. qSearch 2.0 does [provides] the most comprehensive and accurate view available of the entire search market.”

With the launch in the UK and France comScore revealed that of the 3.7 billion searches performed in July in the UK Google increase its search share by more than 3% to account for more than 74% of all searches. Researchers in France found similar results. Of the 2.4 billion searches performed in July in France Google accounts for more than 85% of all searches performed, an increase of 3.8% from 2006.
