Mobile coupons hot in Florida, Texas, California
As the mobile marketplace comes into its own, advertisers and e-tailers are learning what will keep users coming back to mobile sites. One huge draw for many Americans is coupons.
A recent study from Cellfire indicates users in some areas of California, Florida and Texas are most likely to download and use mobile coupons. According to the study Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is the number one market for consumers who use mobile coupons. Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto, California have the second highest rate of users who use coupons while the Chico/Redding, California consumers are the third most likely to use mobile coupons. Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas and Waco/Temple-Bryan, Texas consumers round out the top five for mobile coupon usage.
The age group most likely to use mobile coupons is the 18-34 age group with 68% of coupons being used by this age group. Roughly 18% of consumers 35-44 are likely to use mobile coupons.
"Young adults find great value in saving on the activities that fuel their lifestyles by redeeming offers using their mobile phone," said Brent Dusing, CEO of Cellfire.
Mobile coupons are a good draw for marketers because a large segment of the population is looking for discounts. Giving them a simple way to save money - a coupon - is a good way to build good feeling with users and invite them back time and again.
