Bluepulse expands mobile social marketing sites
Social marketers in the US who are also interested in the mobile space have a new company to consider. Bluepulse, the Australian social network for mobile devices, is headed to North America.
The platform allows users to meet and talk to friends one-on-one or through broadcast messaging, to share pictures and videos and use mobile widgets. Still in the beta stage, the company is quickly closing in on 100 million page views per month.
Ben Keighran, Founder and CEO of Bluepulse said, “As mobile social networking becomes even more integral to mobile users’ daily routines, we look forward to continuing to make bluepulse the mobile social networking hub." The company has several roll outs planned for the upcoming months that should invite more users into their space.
Mobile marketing, though still fairly untested, is quickly gaining ground as more consumers realize how simple it is to log on through mobile devices to get quick information - like a business location, directions or a phone number. Though used primarily for local search information, the platforms are changing and inviting users to go more in depth with their handsets, which is where social networking on mobiles has begun to take off. Since users have their phones with them nearly 24/7, it is simple to stay in touch with friends at any time of the day.
Juniper Research has forecast mobile marketing to reach $576 million in 2007 and estimates that the platforms will bring in more than $5 billion by 2012.
