Bebo is growing fast in the U.K.
Social marketers may be surprised by the latest report on social networks from comScore. According to the report, Bebo was the most visited social network in the U.K. in July. More than 10 million users logged on in July.
That is an increase of more than 63% from the beginning of the year.
MySpace was the second most visited social site with 10.1 million users (25% increase). Facebook was the third most visited site and the fastest growing social site, with 7.6 million visitors. That is an increase of 366% since the beginning of 2007.
Perhaps the most interesting facet of the report is that, together, Bebo and MySpace are reaching more than 60% of the U.K. online audience.
The social networking scene has different results in the U.S. with MySpace leading the way for visitors. According to a recent Nielsen//Netratings report more than 61 million users in the U.S. logged on to MySpace in July, that is an increase of 33% over July 2006. Facebook closely followed MySpace with more than 19.5 million users (129% increase YoY). Classmates ranked third for traffic with 12.6 million users (13% increase) and Windows Live Spaces ranked fourth with more than 8 million users (19% increase).
