Google begins beta test of AdSense for Mobile
With three times as many mobile devices in the world as there are personal computers, mobile advertising is a huge market, and something Google hasn’t ignored.
Last year, Google AdWords became available for mobile advertisers. It looks like Google AdSense for mobile marketers and publishers is now on its way.
Several online sources report that Google is looking for publishers to sign up for the beta version. “As part of our efforts to develop new and improved AdSense products for our partners, we will begin a limited beta test for AdSense for mobile,” said Google in an email.
Mobile-optimized websites will be able to monetize traffic by using AdSense for Mobile ads and benefit from Google’s targeting technology. The ads will show up on site visitor’s cell phone screens in a 2 line text format plus the URL for the mobile website. There is also an option whereby a “call now” function can be added.
