IAB launches centralized ad spec database
A centralized database of ad unit specifications has been launched by the Interactive Advertising Bureau.
The IAB has announced the launch of their “Creative Specs Database” containing ad sizes and formats contributed by over 88 companies.
The single source will be an immensely useful resource for advertising agencies who can now easily find ad specs and formats which participating publishers must keep constantly updated. Specs must be updated within 72 hours of any changes being made.
"We are very excited about what the launch of the Creative Specs Database means to the advertising industry," said Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO of the IAB. "By creating this centralized resource we hope to simplify the ad delivery process for advertising agencies and marketers, allowing them to leverage the power of interactive media across multiple publishers with greater efficiency."
Companies that have already uploaded their ad specs into the database include CNN.com, Yahoo, Forbes.com and IDG, amongst others.
