American Airlines enhances eShopping Mall

Following a revamp of its online award booking service, American Airlines has improved its AAdvantage eShopping mall to make it easier for members to earn miles.

The changes have come about as a result of research and feedback from staff and customers. “According to our research, 75 percent of AAdvantage members shop online in order to compare prices and products,” said Kurt Stache, President of AAdvantage Marketing Programs. “With the new design, we are able to provide a customized online shopping experience that gives our customers the opportunity to comparison shop while earning AAdvantage miles.”

The AAdvantage Program was the first and is the world`s largest frequent flyer program. Via the eShopping Mall its members have access to more than 200 quality merchants, including Barnes & Noble.com, Apple Store and Nordstrum, plus the most up to date AAdvantage bonus miles offers.

Improvements made as a result of research include a price-comparison capability, allowing members to scan merchants for a product with a single query. In addition, personalized accounts are being added to allow members to select their favorite merchants and view award and purchase histories.

According to American Airlines’ recent release “customers can also take advantage of a new feature which provides the latest coupons and promotions from AAdvantage eShopping mall merchants. For the first time ever, members will earn AAdvantage miles and receive a discount.”
