“One Click” Mobile Search Offering

No more shortcodes or text message only results for mobile search firm 4Info.net. Beginning today, the company has upgraded their mobile search platform to allow for one-click online searches.

To use the platform, users simple send a query via SMS to 4Info and the results are sent directly to the phone. From sports scores to maps, users now have the information they want right away. 4Info.com says the upgraded platform is also a benefit to advertisers. It will allow online marketers to utilize mobile text ads because each time a user conducts a mobile search they will show one contextual ad – either banner or text – per search results page.

In the past much of the advertising over the 4Info platform has been keyword rich. That is changing, though. The company now also offers behaviorally targeted ads based on demographic information. They can build up the demographic information over time as users send text messages.

There is one more new offering from 4Info. Starting today, the company offers the ability to create text alerts, according to MediaPost.com. The alerts are delivered via text message through the mobile search platform and include opportunities for sports scores, news bulletins and more delivered to the mobile phone.
