In-Game Ad Network Set To Launch

Starting this month IGA Worldwide, an in-game advertising vendor, will begin delivering ads to six online Acclaim games.

by Kristina Knight

The ads will focus on MMOG’s – massively multi-player online games.

The ads will first appear in BOTS!!, 9Dragons, 2Moons and Dance!. There are two other titles that will hold in-game ads but they have not been named yet. In the last six months, BOTS!! Has attracted more than 500,000 online gamers. Acclaim’s #1 game, World of Warcraft, is not slated to have in-game ads at this point.

Justin Townsend, IGA CEO said these standard offerings are beginning to attract more advertisers when compared with the deals offered for PC and console games. He said the deal with MMOG publishers will allow IGA to extend it’s reach quickly because MMOG games are free to play online.
