Google Passes Technorati in Search Traffic
Google is on the move again. The companies blog search engine is finally paying off. According to a new report, the Google blog search function has surpassed Technorati’s blog search in traffic.
Technorati has been the historical favorite because of new tools for bloggers like blog readers and the ability to track the popularity of specific blogs by links and ranking blogs according to blogger likes and dislikes.
Google added a link to its new blog search function in October on the Google News front page. That is linked to the surge in traffic the blog search has seen. According to Hitwise (via eMarketer), Google has seen a surge of about 60% from the Google News site since the link went live.
Meanwhile Technorati has had to deal with customer complaints and flagging enthusiasm over delays in new tools for blog rankings and other problems.
