WebTrends Announces Purchase of Clickshift
Clickshift, the online ad optimization firm, has been purchased by web analytics provider WebTrends.
The announcement was made at Search Engine Strategies (Paris), but financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Clickshift will transfer its technology and staff to WebTrends, including co-founders Leo Chang and John Rodkin, but will continue to work out of their currrent California office.
“From day one, our vision has been to revolutionize the way marketers manage and profitably grow their complex online marketing campaigns,” said CEO Rodkin in a statement. "WebTrends is the ideal partner for our revolutionary solution as its Marketing Performance Management strategy perfectly matches our mission. WebTrends has the resources, experience and expansive customer base to introduce more marketers to the power of true marketing optimization.”
With the acquisition comes expansion of their current suite of products, WebTrends Marketing Lab, with the introduction of WebTrends Dynamic Search. Industry media and experts will be invited to attend launches in New York (December 11) and London (December 14).

ClickShift exemplifies the type of cutting edge marketing solution that we evaluate for strategic acquisitions and partnerships to build customer value,” said Tore Steen, vice president of corporate development, WebTrends.
