Afternic joins BuyDomains in the NameMedia family. Insiders say the acquisition makes NameMedia the leading platform for the domain after-market. With more than 1.8 million domains, Afternic is a good buy for NameMedia. They also offer domain name appraisal, purchasing assistance teams, escrow services and advertising platforms for domain owners. The buyout should create a steady following for NameMedia.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. However, Roger and Michael Collins, Afternic’s executive team, will stay on with the company.

Our combined offerings, along with planned future products and services, will offer many benefits to our shared customers”.

Both the Afternic and BuyDomains brands and trading platforms will continue. Afternic will retain their Florida headquarters.
