"Making Life Easy” Goal of World Usability Day 2006
The largest user experience network in the world, the User Experience Alliance (UXA), will mark the second World Usability Day on November 14, 2006.
The UXA, along with its partners across the globe, will tomorrow be conducting the world’s first 36 hour global expert review of a number of leading websites and products. The number of events being held has already surpassed expectations. Nearly 40 countries are currently involved totaling 206 events worldwide compared with the inaugural event held last year which attracted 115 events in 35 counties.
Events include debates, demonstrations and workshops along with online web and podcasts. The overall theme is “Making Life Easy”.
According to the official site, “World Usability Day promotes the value of usability engineering, user-centered design, and every user's right to ask for things that work better.”
Coupled with website performance, usability is a key factor in encouraging sales and repeat business. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of international users and will address the issues companies face when designing a global user interface.
To get involved or to find an event near you, visit the Event schedule on the main website.

Thanks very much for covering our event! All of us at User Centric feel fortunate to have participated in the around-the-world review as the alliance's US representative. One small correction - the abbreviation for the User Experience Alliance is actually "UXA" instead of "UEA". Thanks again! Maura Vij www.UserCentric.com
