QTags Plans To Expand Abroad
US company QTags.com says, it is planning to expand to Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. QTags are mobile text messages that are directly targeted at customers that have signed up for a company’s opt-in marketing information.
A QTag is created in a matter of minutes, when an interested customer sends a text message with a relevant keyword to "78247". This often further results in consumers visiting the relevant web-link, placed in their personal QTag's inbox. "QTags allows us to communicate quickly and easily with those [customers] who opt-in wanting to learn more”, says a manager at Red Robin, a Texas hotel that today launched a campaign using the service.
QTag’s partner is Brandmovers. Together they collaborated on text messaging campaigns for brands including Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, HP, Applebees, FYE and Rip Curl USA. Brandmovers develops a microsite with a specific URL that consumers can visit for more information.
Marketers at QTag say the advantage of their strategy is that the cost is minimal and that companies reach customers, who truly desire to learn more about their products or services.
QTag’s own blog is online at www.allaboutqtags.typepad.com and www.qtags.com. It also operates an advertiser’s information site at www.qtagsforadvertisers.com.
