Nabaztag, a lively toy rabbit that is outrageously popular in Europe, is set to be officially launched on the US market in the next months. The success of the nifty gadget is largely the result of social networks.

The rabbit is the creation of designers at the Paris-headquartered company It has movable ears, a talking mouth and intestines that light up in every color indicating its mood. Wirelessly hooked up to your WI-FI or DSL connected computer, the toy is capable of informing you of the weather, receiving SMSes and physically connecting you to your boyfriend across the Atlantic; you touch the rabbit's ear lovingly and your boyfriend's bunny thousands of miles away will make the same movement.

The attraction of the rabbit is not only that it links its users with the world by means of a nifty shape that's merely an extension of their computer. But the company is pouring considerable effort and funds into programming and content and is actively recruiting talented designers and content specialists prior to its official launch of the product in the US.

The firm has programmed various Nabcasts professionally, catering to all imaginable tastes and consumers of the product have jumped on the bandwagon, which has created an outrageous amount of incredible broadcasts, networked ideas and other content.
