Aquent, an online marketing specialist with over five years experience in the field of global staffing solutions for creative professionals in marketing and communications roles, has recently published the results of its annual Salary Monitor Survey.
The study in which nearly 15,000 professionals participated this year, and which is online under www.marketingsalaries.com, provides salary information for detailed staffing positions categories. For instance, a New York marketer’s median salary during 2006 amounted to USD95,000, compared to the world average of USD80,000.
The surveyors caution against interpretation of the results. The New York population that participated in the study amounted to 59 respondents. The overall written review offers in depth statistics that are broader than only salary information. It includes revenue growth, staff turnover, retention strategies, salary increase/decrease percentages, and forecasts on permanent and contract hiring trends.
The study is intended as a management tool mostly and provides strategy information for decision makers operating in the marketing, communications and creative sectors.
Aquent traced most of the survey’s respondents by targeting the members of a few professional organizations, including the professional marketing organizations AIGA and the American Marketing Association, as well as BtoB Online, and Communications Arts.
